Properties:
white powder, no smell, no taste. Relative density is 6.86, Decomposed into carbon dioxide and bismuth oxide at the 308ºC. Gradually decomposes and degenerate under the light. Undissolved in water or ethanol, easily dissolves in inorganic acid(nitric acid, hydrochloric acid) and acetic acid, also dissolves in ammonium chloride solution, slightly dissolves in alkali carbonate solution.
Application:
As astringent and X-ray diagnosis opacifier in medical industry, also can treat the gastric and duodenal ulcer, bacteria red dysentery, amoebic dysentery, acute mucosa permeable gastritis, enteritis, diarrhea, skin disease, eczema and crystal rash as well external remedy of fire wound.
